You know the saying… “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue….and a Sixpence for your Shoe”. First minted by Edward VI in 1551, the sixpence was thought to be “lucky”. It was made popular as a wedding tradition by brides of the Victorian Era. When placed in her shoe, it brought the couple future wealth and good fortune in their marriage. The last of the sixpence coins were minted in 1967 under Queen Elizabeth II.

Check out our selection of sixpence coins and sixpence sets that include garters or handkerchiefs, too!

There are few brides who are not surprised at the number of decisions that wedding planning includes. Sometimes it’s a wonder that they all get accomplished. Some of those decisions include trying to decide on your wedding colors & style, and that of course has a domino effect on the accessories you include in your wedding day. If you’ve been planning for more than a day, you know that it can be tricky finding JUST the right accessories… and then having them coordinate not only with your dresses and flowers, but also with the other accessories. Well, WeddingDepot.com is now introducing a more in-depth strategy on offering you “Collections” so that you can more easiy - and often more cost-effectively - purchase your matching accessories in a single click. But, in the case you still prefer to shop for the separate pieces, or if you do not need the entire collection, the components are still available on a “per piece” basis. We look forward to continuously introducing more and more collections that will include wedding accessories such as the ring bearer pillow, flower girl basket, garter, unity candle set, tie-on accessory bows, guest books, guest book pens, and more.

In many of the weddings that I have attended, there are usually quite a few toasts to the bride and groom. I often see not only the bride, groom, and family, but also the bridal party standing near the bride & groom while the toast is being given. With personalized toasting glasses being so popular for the bride & groom, it makes sense that the bridal party could also have personalized glasses. Now, that’s possible. Toasting glasses can be personalized for your bridal party and they too can have fancy stems during your toasts at the reception.

NEWLY ADDED - We’ve just added a brand new unity candle set to our line-up. In recent times, oil-burning “candles” have come on the scene. They’re much like oil-burning lanps and allow for the ability to personalize the glass “candle” so that the candle is unique to you and your wedding. Our new Eternity Unity Candle Set allows you to select a) the color of your stand, b) the color of the imprinting, and c) the design (from over 12) of imprinting on the glass lantern. Pretty cool!
